COMMUNITY PLAN IN MRS. GOTO'S 6th GRADE CLASS
The Community Plan in Room 201 focuses on teaching the students to be responsible for their actions, to develop good character, and to become responsible, resourceful, and respectful citizens of a community. Our Community Expectations, Consequences and Positives are listed below for your review. Please have your child discuss these with you. Please sign the form with your child and return it to school as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.
COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS -- TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED
That means you will:
**Learn to COMPROMISE
**RESPECT one another
**Be RESPONSIBLE and REASONABLE
**PAY ATTENTION to the speaker
**HELP others
**FOLLOW the RULES and DIRECTIONS
**Be SAFE and please KEEP YOUR FEET AND CHAIRS on the floor
**Be POSITIVE
**SHARE with others
**Please use a CALM, QUIET VOICE inside the classroom
**Keep OBJECTS to YOURSELVES along with your NEGATIVE PERSONAL OPINIONS
**Treat ALL ADULTS at our school with respect
**Return your homework ON TIME and COMPLETE
**Be responsible for getting yourself to school ON TIME
**Use nice words and good manners; remember to say "PLEASE" and "THANK YOU"
**INCLUDE others
**ALWAYS do your best
**PAY ATTENTION to what YOU are doing as YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS
**Lose student recess.
**Lose choice time.
**Lose computer time.
**Office visit.
**Write apology letters to students, staff, and to Mrs. Goto.
**Write problem-solving letters to Mrs. Goto or to office personnel.
**When severe infractions occur such as injuring others, stealing, disrespecting property, flagrantly disrespecting students and adults, etc., students receive White Slips and/or Incident Reports. These slips and reports are filled out by the person(s) witnessing the infraction. Students must return signed slips and reports to me the next day to be able to attend their recesses.
**(A School-Wide Behavior Plan will be sent home to be reviewed and signed by parents and students.)
**Individual, partners, pod, group, and class auction bucks
**Auction participation
**Positive notes sent home or positive phone calls home
**Constant verbal compliments and written compliments
**Monthly and end-of-the-year homework celebrations
**Work published on web site
**Work showcased in the hallways and in the classroom
**Dinner with Mrs. Goto (top 2 money winners each month)
**”Starbucks study hour” with Mrs. Goto (no caffeine drinks allowed for students)
**Alderwood Mall Walk with Mrs. Goto
**Homework Club participation
Please keep the signed Community Plan in your binder once Mrs. Goto checks you off. Thank you.
